The foals at early morning breakfast.....

Donner und Blitzen
May
1, '08 - Amidst tornadic thunder storms, wailing sirens, high winds, thunder and
lightning our second foal of the season was born. "Song Sung
Blue" is a dark bay colt by Sinatra Song (Sandro Hit) out of our
Elite Hanoverian Mare Dabadu Blue (Don Primero) What an
introduction to this little guy's new world !
Both Mother and Foal are healthy and well.

An April Fool surprise !! (Ein Aprilscherz !) -
Danke, Armin Gantzckow
This
morning at around 9:00 our Dutch mare "Remolina" (Flemmingh x Zoogedacht) gave
birth to a beautiful chestnut filly. We had been watching the mare on our
wireless barn cam at about 90 minute intervals every night for the past 10 days
but so far she had not done anything but cause us to lose sleep. Although
the mare was at least a week overdue she showed none of the classic signs that
she was about to give birth. She gave us a real surprise this morning when
we went to check her at about 10:00 a.m. and found a foal on her feet, at her
side, and already nursing! Our vet
pronounced both mother and foal healthy and well.

Greenwood SportHorses is proud to announce that our imported Hanoverian mare "Dabadu Blue" (Don Primero x Argentan) has earned her Elite Mare status from the American Hanoverian Society. Dabadu was originally one of the foals we purchased at the Elite Foal Auction at Verden, Germany in 2000.

"SPS
Daina" (DeNiro x Maurice) Hanoverian mare owned, trained and ridden by Melissa
Hervert Allen. Daina was imported by Greenwood SportHorses to be shown in

northern Germany but all training after her arrival at our farm has been done by
Melissa. Under her expert guidance, Melissa and Daina have achieved remarkable
success at 4th level in 2007 and will be moving up in the next show season.
